Visitor Policy
Boys Town employs industry standard practices to safeguard all data that enter the local network from the Internet. Examples of these practices include use of firewall and e-mail filtering to enforce perimeter security, use of anti-malware software, workstation security measures, and control of physical access to data centers.
Data transmissions from visitors that involve financial transactions are secured using the certificate-based https protocol.
For cases in which there is a high likelihood that sensitive information may be communicated while making requests for information or product inquiries (e.g., communications to the Boys Town Hotline) and the communication does not use a secure protocol, visitors are alerted that they are about to use an unsecured transmission and are given a phone number to use as an alternative.
